Goal: $30,000.00
Through the Toghu Marathoner’s international races, the Amom Foundation is raising funds to reconstruct 10 unsafe and broken-down wooden bridges in rural communities of Bui Division, North West Cameroon. These bridges are vital lifelines—connecting children to schools, farmers to markets, and families to healthcare.
When destroyed, especially during the rainy season, they isolate entire villages, cutting off access to education and opportunity.
Rebuild 10 rural footbridges using reinforced, weather-resistant materials
Restore safe access to education for over 2,000 schoolchildren
Reconnect farming communities to essential trade routes
Strengthen community development through shared infrastructure
Children miss school due to rivers that flood during rainy season
Pregnant women and the elderly risk their lives crossing collapsed bridges
Food supplies can’t reach markets on time, affecting local economies
Rebuilt bridges = access, safety, education, and progress
The Toghu Marathoner, Afowiri Kizito Fondzenyuy, is running major global marathons—including the Tokyo Marathon and upcoming races—wearing traditional Toghu attire to:
Raise awareness of rural infrastructure challenges in Cameroon
Mobilize the global community through virtual and in-person support
Use each race as a fundraising milestone toward bridge completion
To date, over $5,000 has already been raised. Your donation can help us finish the mission.
