How Amom Charity Foundation will reinvent education for rural dwellers in Cameroon

Amom Charity Cameroon, a non-governmental organization has presented its report on key findings on learning in some parts of Cameroon.

The organization which is a non-profit organization in Cameroon and other African countries provides and facilitates access to quality education for the rural dwellers, and also for underprivileged children, in the bid to lead the way to a better, brighter future.

The result of the findings was presented to the minister of Basic Education on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in the auditorium of the Ministry of Basic Education, Yaounde, has it that the project consisted of a door-to-door campaign for children between 6 to 15 years old.

The founder of Amom Charity organization Cameroon, Afowiri Kizito Fondzenyuy said they have plans of working with the Ministry, and the Inspector General in the Ministry of Basic Education (IGE), to see proposed intervention and how they can work with different institutions to achieve a sustainable outcome.

“This project was a debate to bring out people’s recommendations and I’m appreciative of the fact that people came out with these various recommendations, so what are we planning to do?”

“We are planning to work with the ministry, and the IGE and try to see whatever interventions we propose and see how we can implement them with the different institutions that we have in existence”

He also stated that it is of no use to reinvent the normal way of learning, adding that it is better to look out for other items that will help the children in education.

“it is of no use reinventing the will, but there are other items that will be of help to the children, like teaching right now, these are some of the items that will help children get back to their reading level”

The minister who was represented at the ceremony by the Inspector General of Basic Education, Prof. Atemajong Justina Njika called for the redistribution of some parts of the report as it was deemed necessary during the intervention by some of the officials in the Ministry as regards the findings.

Afowiri Kizito Fondzenyuy also stated the aim of embarking on the findings is to equip young Cameroonians to present themselves anywhere in the world as regards quality education.
