The Mount Kilimanjaro Summit Marathon was not just an endurance challenge — it was a commitment to inclusive education and neurodiversity advocacy in Cameroon.
Afowiri Kizito Fondzenyuy, founder of the Amom Foundation, has successfully completed the Mount Kilimanjaro Summit Marathon, marking the seventh continent in his global marathon journey and bringing his total to exactly twenty marathons worldwide.
But the true milestone is not measured in distance.
This marathon was dedicated to autism awareness, neurodiversity advocacy, women, and children on the spectrum — communities that continue to face limited access to structured support systems across parts of Africa.
Fundraising linked to the Kilimanjaro run reached 100% of its target within two weeks of launch earlier this year. The impact of that support is already visible.

Through the Amom Foundation, autism awareness activities have commenced in Bamenda, Cameroon. Current interventions include:
These programs aim to strengthen inclusive education systems by equipping educators and families with practical tools to support neurodiverse learners effectively.
The Mount Kilimanjaro Summit Marathon symbolizes more than physical endurance. It represents the urgency of building systems where children are understood, supported, and empowered — regardless of how they learn.
This milestone strengthens our commitment to expanding inclusive education initiatives across Cameroon. Plans are underway to scale teacher training, increase community awareness, and deepen partnerships that will allow sustainable impact nationwide.
The mountain has been climbed.
The work continues.
