ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY

Practical knowledge can unlock local value.

Economic opportunity grows when practical knowledge is matched by resources, confidence and access to markets. Women and local entrepreneurs play indispensable roles in household and community wellbeing.

AMOM’s historical and recent enterprise-related initiatives point to an approach centered on skills and partnerships. Shared projects are reported once, even when they serve more than one work area.

WHY THIS MATTERS

From learning to earning

Processing and enterprise skills need a pathway to affordable tools, sound business planning, consistent quality and customers. That pathway is where follow-up partnerships can matter most.

LIVELIHOOD TRAINING / 2026

From Irish potatoes to enterprise skills.

In 2026, eleven farmers completed potato-processing training that addressed preparation, safe production, packaging, quality control and marketing. These are skills that may support local enterprise and stronger use of agricultural produce.

The published number describes farmers trained; it does not establish that all participants were women. This project is also part of Community Development, and it is not counted twice.

THE WORK DELIVERED
HISTORICAL INITIATIVE

Women’s enterprise and cleaner energy.

AMOM’s historical Green Energy initiative explored cleaner household technology alongside opportunities for women’s entrepreneurship. It reflects a longer-standing interest in practical livelihoods and household wellbeing.

The archive records a proposed approach, not proof that every component was implemented. We present it as part of AMOM’s journey and as a foundation for designing better-supported future opportunities.

PEOPLE & OPPORTUNITY
THE WAY WE WORK

Built with people, not only for them.

Sustainable results begin with listening to the people most affected by a challenge. Projects become stronger when they combine local knowledge, the right partners and a clear understanding of what can realistically be delivered.

Our process emphasizes participation, responsible implementation and learning from outcomes so support continues beyond a single activity.

HOW WE WORK

Four steps from need to lasting opportunity.

01

Identify practical needs

02

Develop usable skills

03

Connect expertise and markets
