06 / OUR WORK

Women & Economic Empowerment.

Skills, entrepreneurship and practical opportunities can help families and communities build more resilient livelihoods. Explore AMOM’s documented activities and historical initiatives.

OUR COMMITMENT

Opportunity grows when practical skills meet local enterprise.

Women and entrepreneurs contribute to food production, household incomes and community resilience. Access to training, markets and usable resources can make it easier to turn those contributions into more sustainable livelihoods.

AMOM’s community-development legacy includes skills initiatives and historical work connected to women’s entrepreneurship. This area brings those stories together while linking back to the original projects and reports.

COMPLETED TRAINING / AUGUST 2026

Turning local Irish potatoes into practical enterprise skills.

AMOM reported that 11 farmers completed potato-chip processing training covering production, food safety, packaging, quality control and marketing. The reporting identifies participants as farmers; it does not establish that all 11 were women.

This is the same activity featured under Community Development. It appears here because the skills and enterprise lessons are relevant, not because it is a separate group of beneficiaries.

AN EARLIER INITIATIVE

Women’s enterprise and AMOM Green Energy.

AMOM’s historical Green Energy initiative explored links between cleaner household energy technologies and opportunities for women’s entrepreneurship. It belongs in the history of AMOM’s community-focused ambitions.

Present this as a documented initiative or proposal unless independent records confirm which activities were implemented and completed.

NEXT OPPORTUNITIES / PROPOSED

From a workshop to sustainable livelihoods.

AMOM has published a proposed three-month mentorship follow-up for potato-processing entrepreneurs. Practical next steps may include business planning, pricing, appropriate equipment, product presentation and access to markets.

The mentorship should remain clearly identified as proposed until the foundation confirms delivery. Partner organizations and skilled volunteers can help design realistic support around locally identified needs.
